Workouts That Support Great Skin

Working out consistently is a struggle for many both mentally and physically. It’s no secret that regular exercise is great for our hearts, our mental health, and our bodies overall. But did you know exercise is also great for your skin? Workouts can help promote healthy circulation throughout your body, decrease stress, and help to reverse the signs of aging. To inspire you to get moving, we’re sharing a few workouts that support great skin…

Cardio

One of the best ways to get your heart pumping is through a great cardio session. Running, biking, and other vigorous exercise provides cardiovascular benefits, encouraging the body to sweat and detoxify. While many worry about sweat clogging their pores and causing breakouts, it’s actually a good thing to break a sweat at least once a day. Sweating allows your body to detox impurities lurking within pores; helping to purge your skin of damaging free radicals we encounter throughout the day.

While that sweat session is great, you should always make sure to properly cleanse your skin afterwards. Yon-Ka’s Gel Nettoyant is an excellent option post-workout, it will gently cleanse the skin of debris & impurities, leaving your skin feeling refreshed & revitalized.

Yoga

One of the amazing things about exercise is that it can help decrease stress. All forms of exercise can help lower the stress hormone Cortisol. This is great news for anyone who suffers from skin conditions that are exacerbated by stress, such as acne and eczema. Yoga is one of the best ways to help decrease stress. Yoga helps to increase circulation throughout your body. If you incorporate it into your regular workout routine, you’re sure to start seeing the benefits it can provide for your body, your mind, and your skin.

Dance

All of those twists, turns, and bends you do while dancing aren’t just fun, they’re great for your health and skin! The movements you do during dance can actually help to activate the lymphatic system. What does that mean for you? The lymphatic fluids can help carry away toxins, which detoxify the skin. Toxins can cause your skin to look dull and could potentially trigger other skin issues. Getting rid of those toxins is sure to leave your face glowing and vibrant!

Much like yoga, dance can help decrease stress as well. All you need to do is create a playlist of your favorite songs and get moving. It’ll also help release endorphins, which make you feel happy while decreasing cortisol. Not only will you feel great afterwards, but you’ll look great, too.
