5 Tips to Always Keep Your Skin Hydrated

Making sure your skin is hydrated is essential to keeping it looking and feeling healthy. While it’s important to moisturize year-round, it’s especially crucial during the colder months when skin can easily become dry and cracked. To help you keep your skin hydrated, here are five tips that will help you achieve soft and supple skin…

1. Don’t use hot water.

Don’t be fooled into thinking hot water is a good way to remove the bacteria from your skin. It will actually do more harm than good! Water that is too hot can strip your skin of the natural oils it produces, which help to keep your skin hydrated. In the end, it will leave your face feeling dry and tight. Instead, use lukewarm water only when washing your face. Any hotter temperatures could irritate your delicate skin.

2. Moisturize after cleansing.

While cleansing our skin is extremely important, it also removes the essential oils your skin needs to look its best. Replenish your skin immediately after cleansing by following it up with a moisturizer. Even if you have oily skin, you should always moisturize regularly. A lack of hydration will cause your body to overproduce oil in order to compensate.

3. Avoid allergens and irritants.

Many of the detergents and cleaning products we use in our daily lives contain various allergens and irritants that can dry out our skin and leave us feeling irritated. Whenever you come into contact with these ingredients, cleanse your skin right afterwards. Then, be sure you keep your skin hydrated by applying your favorite moisturizer.

4. Switch to a better moisturizer.

If you find that your skin still feels dry, despite moisturizing regularly, you may need to switch to a better moisturizer with more potent ingredients. Crème 28 is one of Yon-Ka’s most popular moisturizers. It’s packed with a variety of vitamins, including vitamins A, E, and F, all of which will keep your skin feeling smooth and supple. This moisturizer does “triple-duty”, as it’s designed to protect and hydrate your skin, while also preventing the signs of aging. It can be used both morning and night and can even repair the most dehydrated skin.

5. Exfoliate regularly.

Instead of immediately reaching for your moisturizer the next time your skin gets dry, reach for your exfoliator instead. Exfoliating is essential to maintaining soft, healthy-looking skin because it sloughs off all the dead skin cells. When your skin is dry, it’s a sign you should exfoliate to remove the build-up of dead skin cells. Once you’ve exfoliated, be sure to apply your moisturizer for the fresh, new skin cells to soak up!
