How to Make Your Skin Glow

As women, glowing skin is something we are always trying to achieve. A gorgeous glow gives us a youthful appearance that looks fresh and radiant. While you can use makeup to create a glowing complexion, it’s even better when you can do it naturally. Here are three tips to make your skin glow the natural way… 

1. Eat a good, clean diet.

What we eat plays a major role in how our skin looks. Too many sugary treats or processed foods can leave our skin looking dull and can even cause breakouts. To give your skin a healthy glow from the inside out, you want to stick to a good, clean diet. Start by incorporating a lot of green vegetables into your diet. One great veggie to snack on is broccoli – it is rich in antioxidants and aids in collagen production, which keeps your skin looking soft and supple.

Foods that are rich in omega-3s (such as salmon) are also great for your skin. Omega-3s are healthy fats that can help fight inflammation in your skin and help fortify skin cell membranes.

And remember that water is essential to your skin’s health! When your body isn’t hydrated, your skin cannot possibly look its best. Skip the sugary drinks and reach for a glass of water instead. Water helps to flush toxins out of your body and keeps your skin cells full, which results in firmer looking skin.

2. Ditch the chemicals.

Unfortunately, a majority of skincare and makeup products today contain an excessive amount of chemicals that are being absorbed by your body when you apply them. Most likely, you aren’t familiar with a lot of the chemicals lurking inside your products. But the scary truth is that many have been linked to cancer. Products containing massive amounts of parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, sodium lauryl sulfate, and propylene/butylene glycol are all potentially harmful, not only to our skin, but also our health. Instead of putting an assortment of chemicals on your skin, follow our next tip to achieve a glow instead…

3. Use products with natural and organic ingredients.

For a much safer form of skincare, skip the chemicals in favor of products that contain natural and/or organic ingredients. Ingredients such as coconut oil, green tea extract, soy, and hyaluronic acid are great for your skin without the harsh chemicals. Not only are they safer, but also they will give your skin a fresh, rejuvenated look that will leave you positively glowing! Green tea extract, for example, is packed with antioxidants that can prevent and even reverse UV damage to the skin. It’s also a great natural anti-inflammatory.

For brighter skin, look for skincare products that contain soy or vitamin C to give your skin a healthy glow the right way! When applied topically, soy can give your skin a brighter, more even-toned appearance and vitamin C helps to prevent the signs of aging by preventing sagging while also getting rid of dullness.
