Get Flawless Skin with These 7 Beauty Essentials

It’s no secret that we all want flawless skin. We try various cleansers and masks and other treatments to achieve that perfect complexion, yet sometimes we still fail to get the results we want. The truth is, a good skincare routine is the key to achieving a flawless complexion. If you’re struggling with your skin, make sure you have these seven beauty essentials in your skincare routine…

1. Cleanser

Flawless skin simply does not exist without a good cleanser. A cleanser that does its job properly is one that will rid your skin of dirt, oil, and bacteria without leaving your face dry and irritated. Your body produces oil overnight, so you want to give your skin a good cleanse each and every morning. But it’s especially important to cleanse at night to remove all of your makeup before you head to bed. Sleeping in your makeup can lead to breakouts and irritation, which no one wants. If you’re still not convinced, read our post on the reasons why you should never sleep in your makeup.

2. Toner

Toner is a step that many people skip in their skincare routine, as some debate whether or not it’s necessary. Toner is a great addition to your routine for a few reasons. Using a toner after cleansing ensures you’ve removed every last trace of makeup before you go to sleep at night. As mentioned above, sleeping in your makeup can lead to breakouts and irritation. Doing a quick sweep with a toner will leave you feeling squeaky-clean!

A good toner can even help prep your skin for makeup when used in the morning. If you have drier skin, find a toner that has hydrating properties to give your skin an extra boost of moisture. Or if you have oily skin, a toner that is designed to reduce oil will keep you matte all day long. The right toner could be the key to helping your makeup last longer, just like a primer!

3. Moisturizer

Moisturizer is essential if you want flawless skin. Keeping your skin hydrated will leave your face looking and feeling soft, smooth, and supple. If you have dry, flaky skin, you won’t be able to achieve that healthy glow you desire! And your makeup is only going to cling to all those dry patches. Hydrate every morning and night to make sure your skin stays healthy.

For those with acne-prone or oily skin, choose a lightweight moisturizer. Many with oily skin believe they don’t need moisturizer, when in fact the opposite is true. If you deprive the skin of hydration, your body will produce more oil to compensate, which is the opposite of what you want to happen.

4. Eye Cream

You may be thinking that you’re too young to start using eye cream, but the truth is… You’re wrong. If you want flawless skin in future, it’s important to be proactive and take care of your skin now. The ideal time to start using an eye cream and other anti-aging products is in your 20s. Getting an early start will prevent any signs of aging before they even have the chance to appear. Find an eye cream that hydrates, but also has anti-aging ingredients to keep your under-eye area looking youthful.

5. Serum

Do you have a serum in your skincare routine? If not, you should definitely consider buying one if you’re longing for flawless skin! Serums that are packed with antioxidants, like the Yon-Ka Serum, will promote healthy skin by providing nourishment and anti-aging treatment. It helps to regenerate aging skin, while protecting you from future damage. Could you ask for anything better? Serums are perfectly fine to use both morning and night!

6. Exfoliator

Exfoliating your skin is a must because it gets rid of the dead skin cells that have built-up on your face. Dead skin cells can actually leave your complexion looking dull and lead to clogged pores. By exfoliating your skin once or twice a week, flawless skin isn’t far off! Plus, a good exfoliation can actually help your skin to better absorb other products (such as your serum and your moisturizer). Just remember to be careful when you’re scrubbing away because you still want to be gentle as to not irritate your skin. Exfoliators that are too harsh will only aggravate your skin, leaving it red and sensitive.

7. Mask

Masks are a great way to target specific skin issues, while also treating yourself to a mini pampering session. Sounds good, right? When purchasing a mask, choose one that is designed to help with whatever your biggest concern may be. If you’re struggling with acne, a clay mask is a great option! Clay masks absorb excess oil and can also help to dry out active acne. For dry skin, use a creamy mask that’s packed with hydrating ingredients to give your skin an extra boost of moisture. Sheet masks are also popular for treating a variety of skin issues, including dullness, redness, and more. Use a mask once a week and you’ll be on your way to flawless skin!
