Combating Crows Feet

I’m lucky enough not to be covered in fine lines yet, but the area around my eyes is definitely starting to show my age. I have these wrinkles in the outside corners that are really prominent when I smile. Some may refer to them as crow’s feet, but I prefer laugh lines – it just sounds nicer.

Crow’s feet are often the first signs of age partly because eyes have just half the number of oil glands as the rest of the face, which are half the size. Plus, the skin around our eyes is the thinnest and has the least elasticity so for these reasons; many women suffer from laugh lines as early as their 20’s. I also like to think that while laugh lines may be unsightly, they must be a sign of a cheerful life!

Thankfully, we can diminish the appearance of these fine lines by using an eye cream at night. Look for something that has antioxidants like Vitamin E to neutralize free radicals that cause the damage to begin. Finally, if you can find an eye cream with essential oils, rosemary firms and tones the skin helping fine lines appear less noticeable. This combination of ingredients helps to improve the current damage and prevent new damage from occurring.

Yon-Ka Phyto-Contour helps minimize the appearance of puffy, tired and aging eyes. It’s the perfect lifting and aromatic eye treatment to revive the delicate skin around the eyes. Rosemary, lavender and cypress oils blended with moisturizing botanicals to tone the tissues ultimately diminishing the appearance of crow’s feet.

When applying eye cream, I like to use my ring finger and dot the eye cream from inner corner to outer corner, pressing and tapping the orbital bone as I go. I try not to rub since that skin is so delicate. This is my favorite part of my routine because it feels so good! For an extra treat, I rub a little on my temple area, a pressure point that helps to reduce stress and tension.

Treating your eyes at night is a great way to help reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, but you can’t forget to also take care of them during the day. I have found that 24-hour treatment is the key to keeping that area toned and hydrated. To take care of your eye area in the daytime, try Nutri-Contour appreciated for its lightweight and nourishing protection of eye contours.

  1. I have heard that applying serum in conjunction improves the impact of an eye-cream. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.
