7 Ways to Transition Your Skincare Routine from Winter to Spring

It’s not just the ice melting and flowers blooming that changes from winter to spring, when the seasons change you may also notice a difference in your skin. Since our skin is very sensitive to the world around us, it may be time to make some minor adjustments to your skincare routine to optimize your best looking skin.

We’ve created a list of skin care suggestions to help transition your skincare regime from winter to spring.

1. Cut back on heavy creams.

Heavy Creams

If you added in a more emollient moisturizer because of the dry winter which works to support your skin’s natural oil production you will want to swap it out for a lighter more balancing moisturizer formula now that the weather is getting warmer. To ease the transition, you may start with alternating every other day or using your heavy cream at night and lighter moisturizer during the day.

2. Scrub and peel.

Skin tends to be less sensitive when humidity is higher, thanks to the added moisture in the air so now is the time to use scrubs and light exfoliating peels to freshen your skin and brighten the appearance of your skin.

Guarana Scrub is a triple action instant radiance scrub that purifies, polishes, and invigorates. It gently cleanses and unclogs the epidermis and delicately polished as a result of two complementary micro-beads of different sizes (guarana and organic brown rice). Blended with a cocktail of plant extracts with soothing virtues, skin feels smooth and silky, its texture is refined.

3. Add in an antioxidant serum.

Hydralia

As the weather warms up you will be spending more time outdoors having fun and therefore your skin will be exposed more frequently to the sun. An antioxidant serum will counteract the free radical damage you could experience in the spring season.

Enriched with vitamin C, Hydralia is a super-hydrating and light-weight concentrate which effectively eliminates rough spots and the feeling of tautness, and erases fine lines caused by epidermal dehydration

4. Use a weekly mask.

Soak up extra oil and unclog pores by using a clay mask once a week. Clay is exfoliating and softening, helping to keep your skin clear and calm even during the balmy spring season.

Try either Masque 105 for dry and delicate complexions or Masque 103 for combination or oily skins from Yon-Ka Paris. These detoxifying masks contain three specific kinds of clays that combine to purify the skin, tighten pores, and brighten the complexion and leave it with an exceptional glow.

The version for dry or sensitive skin soothes the skin.

5. Amp up your SPF.

Sun Exposure

For daily use, SPF 25 will do the trick but when you are going to be outside for prolonged periods of time you will want to use a sunscreen with an SPF 50 or higher.

6. Switch out your color palette.

Change Makeup

While dark shades and rich hues were complementary in winter months they can be overpowering come spring. Adopt a softer look by changing up your makeup for the new season with pink and peach hues.

7. Pay attention to products that increase sun sensitivity.

Glowing Skin

If you are using a product with known sun sensitivity agencies retinol or glycolic acid you may want to cut back during warmer months. Oral medications to treat acne or rosacea can also make you more sensitive to sunlight.
