6 Tricks for Better Hair

Healthy, lustrous hair is pretty high on the beauty wish list for many women. The great thing is, it doesn’t have to be hard to achieve. Today we’re sharing six super simple tricks to help you get hair that not only looks better, but feels better too… 

1. Squeeze-dry your hair.

Odds are, when you get out of the shower, you reach for your bath towel to dry off your hair. Well, you aren’t alone. Most women do this without realizing it’s not the best way to soak up the water. Instead, reach for a paper towel – seriously! Use a paper towel to wring the water from your hair. It’s much more gentle and won’t cause the friction a bath towel does. It can even help soak up more water, cutting down on your drying time!

2. Eat more Omega-3 fatty acids.

Omega-3 fatty acids provide many benefits for your body, but they can also promote healthier, stronger hair. If you feel your hair has been looking a bit dull and feeling rather brittle, it could be a sign you should incorporate more Omega-3s into your daily diet. Bring your hair back to life by taking a fish oil supplement or consuming more Omega-3s. Some foods that are packed with Omega-3 fatty acids include: tuna, salmon, halibut, flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, and walnuts.

3. Take a multi-vitamin.

Your parents probably always told you to take your vitamins and for good reason. Multi-vitamins are full of the vitamins and minerals your body needs and they can even help with your hair health. They contain biotin, which is an essential vitamin to make your hair, skin, and nails look great.

4. Get regular trims.

You might be putting off that trip to your hairdresser, but it’s actually not doing you any favors. Get your hair trimmed regularly to get rid of split ends. While there are many hair products on the market that claim to fix split ends, the only real fix is a trim. If you want your hair to grow and look its best, don’t skip out on the hairdresser.

5. Don’t use too much hair product.

Less is more when it comes to your hair products, my friend! Your hair care routine should be simple and stick to just the essentials. Know exactly what products you’re using and what you’re using them for. This isn’t the time to slather on something just for fun. Using too many products can leave your hair looking greasy and feeling like it’s weighed down.

6. Don’t use alcohol-based products.

If your hair has been feeling dry lately and you aren’t sure why, it could be because of one pesky ingredient in the products you’re using. Take a look and see how many of your products contain alcohol. While not all alcohols are bad for your hair, many can leave your strands feeling dry and brittle. You definitely want to steer clear of the following: isopropyl alcohol, propanol, and propyl alcohol.
